# LogGraphic 1.17.0 release notes

## Check for updates from the menu

- Added Help > Check for Updates.
- Compares the installed Debian package with the release on repo.sb-i.jp and displays both versions. A newer build revision of the same app version also counts as an update.
- When an update is available, Update opens a terminal for administrator authentication and the APT installation prompt.
- Checks run asynchronously with retry, timeout and error reporting.
- Verifies the repository signature and package hash using APT and the bundled public key. Checking requires no administrator privileges and does not modify system APT sources or indexes.
- Updates LogGraphic and any required dependencies. Close and restart the app after installation.
- Includes Japanese and English menus and guidance.

## First upgrade

Older versions do not have the new menu. On a Kali machine with the repository configured, run:

```sh
sudo apt update
sudo apt install --only-upgrade loggraphic
```

Restart the app to access the new update menu. apt update refreshes indexes; the second command upgrades the app itself.

## Supported platforms

Repository updates support the .deb installation of Kali / Debian amd64. On macOS, the dialog explains that a compatible .pkg installer is required.

Check the update terminal for the actual installation result. Opening the terminal does not mean the update has completed.
